The album is very Brat-esque, and I’d be oblivious not to acknowledge that. With that in mind, it still sounds fresh and new. There’s a raw honesty throughout that isn’t common in this kind of electronic, minimalist pop. A great example is EVERYTHING I’VE EVER WANTED, where Tiff gives us a glimpse of her self-doubt and the emptiness that can follow achieving everything she thought she wanted. Other highlights include DOIT4ME, START OVER, and AMERICAN GIRL. However, the rest of the album feels fairly repetitive at times and doesn’t always bring anything new to the table. Still, the production and mixing are consistently impressive. To come full circle, it doesn’t improve on Brat by Charli XCX, but it’s not a bad interpretation either. It’s definitely an album I’ll return to, and one I’d love to own on vinyl.
