KATSEYE
reaganslifeeeeThis sucks ass. Like I can't believe that anybody likes this. I hear all the Pinky Up hate and don't get me wrong that song is not good either, but Hootie Frutti is actually the worst song I've heard in my life. I'm sorry to every country music song I hated on, this is worse. At least Animal didn't make my ears bleed (just my soul). I've been told much about Katseye and their... "music" but man... this is defintely a band that exists. I just don't get what people are getting from this? They find meaning and purpose in this? Music is supposed to make you feel something or have even the slightest thought about what it means to be human... this just makes me question humanity (as in like... are we cooked? Was that their point? So bad to make me question the fate of the world? They're that deep? Jk lol). If you listen to this you should probably be embarrassed, but I won't tell you how to feel. Also I feel like I've heard Animal before from another band or something? Maybe not, but I suppose it's just that generic. I feel like Bel Air is the closest to saying something interesting so I guess I'll put that down as my favorite song.
I think this is her at the beginning of her career trying to just put something out there that would put her on the song writing map (after being big in the dance world). Is it bad? Not at all. This is good for sixteen year old's writing. It just feels very youthful. Like teenage petulence and angst if you know what I mean? Like all my friends are fake... I messed with it so much in middle school... now? It leans a little cringe. I still lowkey really love that way. Like that's lowkey such a good song. I think this album truly is super strong for her age when she wrote and released it. It just feels like it's trying to be sad girl enough to get her famous, but catchy enough to make people vibe with it. I do have a lot of nostalgia for this extended project though. I can literally picture my middle school self listening to this (and not being able to listen to tear myself apart because it cursed and I still had a setting on my phone where I couldn't listen to explicit music tearsss).

boygenius
reaganslifeeeeWell, DAMN. I should've known a band with Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus would destroy me... but DAMN. This is such an amazing album. UM I WANT MORE PLEASE?? Anyways, True Blue, Not Strong Enough, Leonard Cohen, We're In Love, and Letter To An Old Poet are all genuinely perfect songs. They don't follow typical songwriting structure, but they don't even have to! I really love the (as they said) mellow song style that is just like PEAK autumn sad girl vibes. I don't even always love alternative, but this is great. I don't love the opening track, Without You Without Them (but it feels more like an opening than an actual song), I don't love $20, and I don't love Satanist, but other than that the album is really great to me. 9/12 is a pretty strong album. I love the way that they write about poetry in their poetry. I love the way that they write about love. I love the way they write about depression. I just love the way they write about everything. It's like they see the world through a different lens and can just capture it so well. Instead of rose colored glasses (for love) it's like they have blue colored glasses to see the world through this really deep, melancholy lens. If you don't like being sad you won't like this, but I adore it, obviously. So glad to have discovered it just in time for fall ;)

Maya Hawke
reaganslifeeeeWell, I think I was wrong about Maya Hawke the first time I listened to her. I think that she a lot of interesting things to say at least. My main critic the first time I listened was that I didn't like her voice with like the Gracie Abrams whisper singing (but even more extreme), and honestly, I still don't like it. But it doesn't ruin the album for me now. I think that her songs have a lot of interesting concepts like Dark, Missing Out, and Big Idea. I wish it wasn't as stripped back and focused on her voice as it is now, but it doesn't fully tank the project. It just feels like someone's whispering in my ear which I don't fully mess with. It also makes every song run together and make them less distinct pieces that I can point to and talk about. I think my differences with this album also might just be with the fact that I don't really like alternative music like that. I always find that alternative music can't find it's point and doesn't keep me locked in. I would say that that's true for this album too. But I do like her lyrics a lot especially because she is always keeping it real and honest which is important to me in song writing.
7.7/10 Definitely not my favorite Tyler album but it’s still pretty good. I enjoyed this album and had a fun time listening to it. I wouldn’t recommend it to someone unprompted, but if they bring it up, I would suggest they take a listen. Standout track: New Magic Wand Part of the 365 album project
8.4/10 Being one of the first Nu-metal albums I listened to, I was scared I wouldn’t like the genre. But Follow the Leader by Korn was almost a perfect introduction. It was a lovely experience all the way through and introduced me to one of my favorite bands of all time. Definitely in the top 200 albums of all time. Standout track: Got the Life Part of the 365 album project

Type O Negative
Jailie7.7/10 I believe that Type O Negative is a band that thinks very highly of themselves. This was my first Type O Negative record and safe to say I was disappointed. I had always heard such great things about this band, but it was simply a let down. No standout Track Part of the 365 album project

Mazzy Star
Jailie8.3/10 A soft, velvety album that sounds exactly how it looks. I believe Mazzy Star perfectly picked this album cover to represent the songs created for this record. Whenever I see this specific shade of purple, all I can think of is this collection of songs Standout track: Fade Into You Part of the 365 album project

Pierce the Veil
Jailie9/10 While misadventures may not usually be categorized as a love album, I believe it can be. The lyric “you took my hand and then we both started running” from the song circles perfectly encapsulates the freedom of young love. Song for Isabelle pulls at my heartstrings, telling the story of a young couple. Standout track: Dive In Part of the 365 album project

reaganslifeeeeYeah, I think this is a good extended project. I think she's a little bit on the nose sometimes (4am and summer depression), but the other three songs on this project?? Yes. I wanna be your girlfriend, and girls feel in the vein of writing about liking girls while feeling like she's supposed to like boys (and/or be more like a guy to like girls, idk). I think she's really good at making fall aestheic songs that I could just play with the windows down vibing. I really love the song say anything too. That one is defintely the stand out on the project to me. I think that she has a really unique (and genz specific) perspective to the music industry that I don't feel like you get from many other music artists out there right now. I think she just has a great balance between aesthetic and true meaning in her songs. I think the short little project has to stay a 6/10 because I only like 3/5 songs, but I do really love her work.

reaganslifeeeeWell, I liked the first song in the album. It really made me think I'd like the rest, but she either ruins a good song with a weird sound to it (growing down) or it's just like... a little too on the nose (hahaha). It is a surprisingly romantic album. I don't understand why she named it growing down when the clear theme of the album is this new, fresh relationship that scares her. It is a step up from her other work nonetheless. Mad at Disney girl worked up to not just writing songs about products so a win is a win (seriously... go look at her other songs... PS5? Hey Siri? Coke & Mentos? Jake from State Farm??). I think that this is vast improvement. I like I'M NOT SCARED and storm a lot. I also like fridge and hahaha (although it has borderline cringe moments) and if you love me.... Overall, I don't think there's anything genius about the album, but I think she has a decent perspective AND it's one I haven't heard from her so I mess with it a lot. She also has a really nice voice and a clear creative side with the sound and music in each song (like distortions or little side ins).

Quadeca
RichardmusicloverI think a lot of it is catchy and vibey but comparing it to his previous work makes it tough to rate much higher. Some outros take way too long to close, the intro doesn’t really set any tone for me, and celery gets repetitive after exactly 2 listened the gambler on the other hand is awesome. I don’t think the album is a miss, it still presents a unique concept like quad’s major album line up, but it’s definitely the weakest for me in comparison.
