Plastic Beach feels like a loss of identity for Gorillaz. It’s bloated with features and ideas that may seem okay in a vacuum, but are completely stood up by the few tracks solely governed by the band. On Melancholy Hill works because it’s simple, not because Snoop Dogg is on it.
