Sure, there’s not a lot of depth or variety here, and Brian Johnson lowkey sings like a dying banshee, but you know what? This album is really damn fun, and that’s all that matters. This album is just concise, no frills rock n roll for the whole runtime and it works pretty well. Hells Bells starts with this ominous bell sound and one of the best riffs ever and it kicks this album off with a bang, my personal favorite track here. Of course the song Back in Black is a classic, and even if I’ve heard it a million times it’s still a pretty good track. You Shook Me All Night Long is kinda overrated though, it’s fine just a little annoying and not one of their best. Most of this album does sound the same, but if the formula works why complain? Sure Shoot to Thrill sounds just like Have a Drink on Me but if those are good songs I see no problem. It does admittedly make the songs blend in a bit though, unless they’re really good. But overall this record does deserve to be considered a rock classic, and it has become overhated online (especially on RYM where it’s not even top 10K anymore). Would definitely recommend. Rock and roll ain’t noise pollution!!!
