Okkkk… I don’t think she’s like insanely great at song writing, but this was better than I anticipated. I think the ending of do it all again being the fingers crossed verse again… like genuinely chills. I think there’s a lot of cringe and bad writing in here… but there’s quite a bit of good stuff too. The standouts to me are Never Been In Love, Fingers Crossed, Narcissist, 28, and Flowers. To me the lows of this album are the love songs like Hey, Do It All Again, and ily. She went viral for the right songs… it’s understandable. I’ve also been to her concert for this album so i definitely have some nostalgia for it. Narcissist is borderline not that good now… but man it got me through 8th/9th grade. I think some of her songs are a little pointed/on the nose… but I’ve heard worse (like emei 😪). The album keeps me interested at the very least. LSS is a drama queen but like…… slay! Thanks to this album for getting me through my early teenage years of emotional trauma. The storytelling here is pretty meh, but the emotions feel pretty real and at worst over-dramaticized. Also, sorry…. Sad Forever isn’t a good song and it’s all tell and no show… in like the worst way. Sorry I don’t make the rules… I just follow them unless Alessi Rose writes the music bc I could never get enough of her cringe.
