Is it too early to say that Quadeca is back? After Vanisher, which never really connected with me, and the underwhelming lead single Dark Magic, I started to think Quadeca had already peaked with I Didn't Mean to Haunt You. However, this track proved me wrong.
I love the instrumental, and while the vocals can sound a little rough at times, they ultimately make the song feel more authentic and intimate. The lyrics are especially clever, speaking simultaneously from the perspectives of a baby and a prisoner, using that parallel to explore vulnerability, fear, and the feeling of being lost in life. It's a fascinating concept.
For the first time in a while, I'm genuinely looking forward to the album.
