boygenius

I don't like this one quite as much as the record. I might just not get it... I don't know? I want to get it, but I just don't connect to it quite the same. It's a lot of angst and not a lot of lyrics. I just don't feel like I'm tracking with them and I feel like with more listens I will track with them more... but for now I just don't really. I think this album has less appeal to the majority of people. I do think their harmonies sound amazing on this record though! It certainly gives boygenius... just the record is so much more cohesive and tangible. I feel like I'm not in on the secret of this album. Maybe I'm not smart enough to get it (very likely), but I just feel similiarly many other listeners would feel the same. I think I see their talent and who they are here... but as their first record it lands a little shakey for me. I do really love Me & My Dog and Stay Down a lot. It is great autumn sad girl though- so yay.
