Kind of Blue

Kind of Blue is a studio album by American jazz trumpeter Miles Davis, released on August 17, 1959. Moving away from the complex chord progressions of hard bop, the record is based entirely on modality and is widely regarded as the greatest jazz album ever made. Fun fact: Because a tape machine was running slowly during the first session, the first three tracks played slightly sharp in pitch on every pressing until the mistake was corrected in 1992!
