Uhhhh. I understand why this was her first hit album… but it’s not really it for me. I like the songs about relationships… the other ones are just a little raunchy for my taste. No hate though! She is so very talented and her voice is beautiful. It’s just a personal preference thing. I think she balances the album a little better in Man’s Best Friend. + emails I can’t send is just more my style of an album. I prefer emotion over infatuated lust. But I can still appreciate fun, catchy art. What I really don’t mess with is the country sounds on this album. Coincidence, Slim Pickins, Bad Reviews, Please Please Please w/ Dolly (that song is nails on a chalk board to me). So yeah, I see the appeal of this as a fun pop album, but I’m more of a sad girl music vibe. I can get behind a couple fun songs per an album (like emails I can’t send w/ Nonsense) but when it’s an album full of it… it just bores me by the end. Dumb & Poetic is definitely my favorite of the bunch.
