Blanket

2023Alternative Rock2 reviews

Released on November 3, 2023, 'Blanket' is Kevin Abstract's fourth studio album, marking his first solo project after the disbandment of Brockhampton. Collaborating with producer Romil Hemnani and multi-instrumentalist Jonah Abraham, Abstract delves into a grungy, guitar-centric sound reminiscent of bands like Nirvana and Modest Mouse. The album features introspective lyrics exploring themes of identity and nostalgia. Fun fact: The title track's music video, co-directed by Abstract, portrays a dystopian scenario with him interacting with three characters in costumes.

a left field record but a welcomed one to me this one is so hated in the kevin abstract fanbase but its an amazing record its insane to believe that this is the same artist that made arizona baby or even blush afterwards such an incredible ride i love levins take on indie rock the only thing that doesn't make this album a 10 is the story and world could have been so much more it had insane potential and the characters were amazing but the world did not expand much so thats why
