Released in 2022, 'cats in the cold' is the debut album by Toronto-based lo-fi artist mage tears, written and recorded using layered voice memos and iOS GarageBand. The album serves as a diary of feeling lost in early adulthood and has quietly become a cult favorite in the bedroom pop and DIY scenes. Fun fact: The album's resurgence was fueled by organic discovery across Bandcamp and TikTok, leading to a reissue via Lauren Records.
