PSA‼️ I’m not trying to be a hater these are just my honest criticisms. This is the most generic break up album that you will ever listen to in your life. Nothing really made me think deep. Nothing hurt my feelings. Nothing made me happy. It was nothing. I don’t go into albums wanting to be mean… but like this is just a nothing sandwich. I feel bad because the sound and her voice is beautiful… but these are just the least specific songs you’ll ever listen to. “I want you to drunk text me saying you still need me. Tell me I’m not like her. I made you happier.” “And I know you don’t exist, but I’m a little homesick.” (Like what does that mean? How can one not exist while you simultaneously write a song about them?). “Suffering through my toxic thoughts that I let carry on, but in this moment, God, this really hurts like hell.” Don’t tell me your thoughts are toxic!! Write the thoughts out that make me CONCLUDE that it’s toxic. Be specific!! Also, Olivia Rodrigo syndrome here. Why do we need to drop the f-bomb so much? Like I’m a sucker for a good use of one (u + me = <3 by Olivia Rodrigo has a GREAT one) but here it just sounds forced angry. Like the second sentence of the album already drops one (and the rest of that song drops at least 3 more). “Think I really need a therapist cause you really f*CKED me up.” Not but 2 lines later- “I think I should be over this cause it’s been too f*cking long.” Classy cursing 👍 forced cursing to seem edgy 👎 The only song I added to my playlist was someday because I didn’t hate it and I kind of felt bad.
