Don't Believe the Truth

2005Alternative rock, Indie rock4 reviews

Released on May 30, 2005, Oasis' sixth studio album, 'Don't Believe the Truth,' marked a return to form for the band. It debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart, with first-week sales of 237,865, making it the 32nd fastest-selling album in UK history. The album also reached number 12 on the US charts, with 65,000 copies sold in the first week. Notably, all band members contributed to the songwriting, and it was the first album to feature drummer Zak Starkey. Fun fact: The album's title was inspired by the band's response to false rumors about their breakup.

Honestly, it's a banging record. I wouldn't call it a "return to form" only because I don't dislike the last two. In fact, I kind of prefer Standing on the Shoulders of Giants, although this is much better than Heathen Chemistry. An excellent collection of songs that serves its purpose, none of which fall below a seven for me.

Oasis' third best album. The 2nd half of this album is perfect and up there with their finest material.
