Released on February 19, 1996, "Don't Look Back in Anger" became Oasis's second UK number-one single. Written by Noel Gallagher, it was the band's first single featuring his lead vocals instead of his brother Liam's. The song's piano intro bears resemblance to John Lennon's "Imagine," reflecting Gallagher's Beatles influence. The track was recorded at Rockfield Studios in Wales and produced by Gallagher and Owen Morris. Fun fact: The song's title was inspired by David Bowie's "Look Back in Anger" and Bob Dylan's documentary "Don't Look Back."
