Eh 🤷‍♀️ I just feel like basically every song is that there’s this toxic man in her life that she should leave/get over but she doesn’t want to because well…. She likes him. It’s a really pretty album, it just doesn’t do much for me. I will say… make you mine and yes baby are both HOT songs and really stand out on the album (and those type of songs typically aren’t the ones I lean towards- what can I say? I normally love a little sad girl ballad- BUT on this album surprisingly it’s the opposite). I also feel like most of her singing isn’t very passionate so she’s singing about being heartbroken but to these really synthy beats and a really beautiful (emphasis on beautiful!) voice… but without the conviction of those feelings. I almost just feel like (and I feel this way about many other artists too like Olivia Dean) she’s just to elegant to be an artist that I connect with a lot. Credit where credit is due though- her voice sounds so stinking healthy it’s insane!
