In 2021, The Horrors released "Lout," a three-track EP marking their first new material since 2017's "V." The title track showcases a heavier, industrial metal sound, reflecting the band's return to their aggressive roots. Frontman Faris Badwan described "Lout" as exploring themes of choice, chance, and compulsive risk-taking. The EP was accompanied by a short film directed by Jordan Hemingway, featuring beauty executive Isamaya Ffrench. Fun fact: "Lout" is the band's first release since 2017's "V."
