Lyla

2005Rock1 review

Released as the lead single from Oasis' sixth studio album, "Don't Believe the Truth," "Lyla" marked a significant return for the band in 2005. Written by Noel Gallagher, the track showcases the band's classic sound with a fresh energy. It debuted at number one on the UK Singles Chart, becoming their seventh chart-topping single. Fun fact: "Lyla" was the first Oasis song to chart in the United States since 2000, reaching number 19 on the US Modern Rock Tracks chart.

Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of "Lyla". It's a great song, it's just not my first pick when shuffling through my playlist. I couldn't tell you why, it just doesn't really do it for me. The B-sides are pretty good, a sign of picking up momentum in comparison to the last one. Fairly class.
