The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle is the soundtrack album for the 1980 mockumentary film of the same name, presenting a highly fictionalized history of the Sex Pistols from the perspective of their manager, Malcolm McLaren. Because frontman Johnny Rotten had already left the band and refused to participate, the double album was stitched together using unreleased rehearsal outtakes, orchestral covers, and bizarre guest vocalists ranging from bassist Sid Vicious to fugitive train robber Ronnie Biggs. Fun fact: The album includes a disco medley of Sex Pistols hits performed by a group called the Black Arabs!
