Released on September 10, 2021, 'The Ultra Vivid Lament' is the fourteenth studio album by Welsh alternative rock band Manic Street Preachers. Recorded during the COVID-19 pandemic, the album features introspective lyrics and melodies inspired by artists like ABBA and Roxy Music. It debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart, marking the band's second chart-topping album in the UK. Fun fact: The album's title was inspired by the band's experience of isolation during the pandemic, likened to 'The Truman Show' nature of lockdown.
