This Old Dog is the third studio album by Canadian singer-songwriter Mac DeMarco, marking a stylistic shift that heavily features acoustic guitars, synthesizers, and drum machines. The record was primarily developed as DeMarco transitioned from living in his isolated Queens, New York home to a new house in Los Angeles. Fun fact: DeMarco originally intended to finish the album quickly upon moving, but the life transition took longer than expected, allowing the songs to "sit" for a while and develop a uniquely relaxed, settled vibe.
