I mean yeah… there’s not really a song I don’t like on this album. The fact that she wrote this during covid is my Roman Empire. I’m just obsessed with it. I’ve always felt connected to this Tay album even more than the others. (I think TTPD and Midnights are my favorites, however this one is still lovely). This album is just so desperately sad and introspective. It feels like walking around in the woods literally. She totally ditches the pop feels in this album and… I’m here for it. I love her pop songs of course BUT I love her folky/alternative vibes. I think her voice is so beautiful in this light too. Champagne problems, tolerate it, happiness, Coney Island, Marjorie, evermore (and lowkey all of them) are just gut wrenching. This album is a beloved one to me. I think it shows off her poetry in a way no other album of hers does (except maybe the sister album folklore). Evermore and it’s time to go as the closers makes me really happy too. Tay Tay, I love you. I hope you give us more like this in the future. (I’m sorry, it’s just so much better than TLOAS). I also think this album is nicely cohesive. It feels like all the same thoughts stringing together into one hour and nine minutes. This is definitely a Taylor album I would recommend to those who think she only writes pop music. 1989 Stan here but… this one has something special that I think could convert even the most close-minded of people to becoming fans (swifties hehe).
