Well, this is pretty good. I think she's pretty good at song writing, but like even the good songs are just good yeah? It's nothing I find myself reaching for often. Honestly, it never sticks with me. I just forget it quickly and then see it come on on my playlist and be like "oh, what's this song again?" She's not really a tik tok artist (in the same way that others are), but her songs got big because of tik tok and yeah it kind of shows as her songs are generally more catchy and vibey than they are good songs. I enjoyed watch you sleep, i'll die anyway, and bad idea on this record. Any of them could easily be on my fall photo dump and I feel like that's a pretty good description of what her songs are. I think that's a big part of alternative music anyways. Vibe now, lyric later. I don't think her lyrics are bad (at all, even a litle bit), but it feels obvious the focus was on the head beating vibes. But I think that she's really good at the music and production. Anyways, if you're here to be turned then listening to girl in red is a good place to start. Especially chapter 1 haha. I thnk this chapter is also good, but also short and leaves me feeling just okay about it.
