Materia is a seven-track collection of new songs written and recorded with Julia Holter's band between tours. The album serves as a companion piece to her previous work and features two astounding improvisations, showcasing her as one of her generation's most open writers of art-pop. Fun fact: Holter lifted a riff from the album's spellbinding improvisation track "My Twin" to build the song "Fantasy"!
