Released on October 5, 1979, 'Reggatta de Blanc' is The Police's second studio album, marking their first UK Albums Chart-topping release. It features iconic tracks like 'Message in a Bottle' and 'Walking on the Moon,' blending rock with reggae influences. The title, loosely translating to 'White Reggae,' reflects this fusion. The album earned the band their first Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance in 1981. Fun fact: The instrumental title track was developed from live jams during performances of 'Can't Stand Losing You.'
