As someone who goes to Berry college.... the aesthetic is just perfect. I feel like compared to The Great Divide this album truly just has no skips. Like name a bad song on this album? My least favorites are mediocre at worst. But truly, I love every song on this album. First of all, sonically it just feels like an album most music listeners can agree on. It's not too alternative or too predictable. It's folky- so basically country music but less about beer and more tolerable on the ears. Noah's songs are all just so earnest and sweet. The songs that stand out to me are Stick Season (duh- it is the one that went viral), Come Over (omg, the greatest song he's ever written truly), New Perspective, Growing Sideways, The View Between Villages, and Call Your Mom (omg, this song truly kills me in the best way- I'm actually listening to it right now- but the Lizzy McAlpine version which is also amazing). The bridge in that song just makes me spiral in a way not many songs can do. But my favorite thing about this is that my favorites are all great and I think most people would get why I like them BUT you could literally name any other song on the album as your favorite and I could also understand why. I truly think every song has an argument for favorite. It's just such a cinematic album. Look, I know everyone likes him and it feels cringe to like someone's music when everyone and their mother do.... but Noah Kahan lowkey deserves all the hype. He's not my absolute favorite artist of all time, but he has completely earned his spot on all my playlists. Now, I do want to say... if you like him but don't listen to the lyrics I don't respect because his standout feature is his lyrics!! This is poetry and if you cannot have a conversation with me about the things he is saying... stay away HAHA. (Although, I have to say listening to the versions with the other people featured... does anybody actually listen to those versions? Why would you when the others are so much better?)
