Black Holes and Revelations

9.3/10 The album that got me into Muse! There are fun easy songs like Starlight and the title track as well as deeper songs such as Take a Bow. I believe this album encapsulates muse as a band the best, even though it is not the best muse album. Standout Track: Starlighy

Incredible outing from the band. Songs feel different but connected and Muse refuses to stop experimenting. This works less well in songs like Assassin or Hoodoo, but also birthed the beautiful work of art that is Knights of Cydonia and the politically-charged Take a Bow. City of Delusion has an excellent Flamenco sound that is irreplaceable, and there are many other noteworthy tracks. There’s plenty of hits to excuse the few misses.
